If you love working with natural materials and would like to create a unique woven vessel
then join this full day creative class with sculptural basket maker Liz Mayberry.
Start your weaving journey here with random weave basketry in a relaxed class with step-by-step instructions.
During the workshop we will learn how to harvest, store and weave with a variety of natural materials whilst transforming them to create your bespoke piece. You can choose to make a sphere, a platter or a round basket, including the option of adding a unique grapevine rim, all using the random weaving technique.
We will be working with materials gathered from local gardens including jasmine vine, palm inflorescence, grapevine, cane, iris leaves and wisteria vine. You can incorporate the
beautiful grapevine tendrils in your piece or embellish it with handmade cordage.
This class suits anyone who loves connecting with nature and working with your hands
‘’plant wrangling’ and playing with natural materials, from beginner weavers to those with
weaving experience.

The class will run from 10.00am till 3.00pm, with a break for lunch (please bring your own
lunch) By the end of the day everyone should be able to take home a beautiful
bespoke basket.

What to bring: Secateurs, an old towel, and your own lunch.
