Ever wanted to try your hand at pottery? Now's your chance!
Join Kim for a hand building pottery class where you can unleash your inner creativity and create a stunning & unique piece.
In this workshop, led by Kim, you'll learn beginner-friendly skills and get hands-on with clay. This isn't a pottery wheel class, you will be hand forming your work.
At the end of the workshop you will leave your pieces with Kim who will allow them to dry out, then fire and glaze for you.
Your work will be ready in 4-6 weeks, and can be posted for an additional fee.
The class runs for 2 hours from 10am - 12pm
An apron is provided, however clay can be messy, so wear something that you won't mind getting clay on!
- The Workshop: in this class we are all making a tealight house. If you would like to make something different, please have a look at our "open design" workshops
- The Process: after your piece is complete, it will be left to dry for 1-2 weeks and then bisque fired. Kim will then glaze your work and it will be fired again. Each firing can take up to 48 hours to fire and cool down and the whole process can't be rushed. This is why it will be 4-6 weeks before you can collect your work
- Pottery is unpredictable. pottery can warp or crack in the kiln—even for the pros. We take a lot of care to minimize this, but sometimes the "Kiln Gods" have other plans. Unfortunately, we can’t offer credits or refunds for damaged pieces.
- Glazing: You will be offered a choice of glaze colours to choose from. We don't do any glazing effects or special requests
