Create your own piece - hand built not wheel 

In this workshop you will be able to create a work of your choice. You will need to have some experience with clay and hand building techniques as this isn't a fully guided workshop. 

We will provide 2 kg of clay, equipment, some guidance, firing and glazing

At the end of the workshop you will leave your pieces with Kim who will allow them to dry out, then fire and glaze for you.

Your work will be ready in 4-6 weeks, and can be posted for an additional fee.

The workshop will run for 2.5 hours from 10am - 12.30

Numbers are limited to 6 per class

An apron is provided, however clay can be messy, so wear something that you won't mind getting clay on!

Price is $125 pp and includes clay, use of equipment, 2.5 hours in the studio with some guidance, firing and glazing of your work 
Postage of finished pieces will be at an additional cost of $15

Notes; 
  • The Workshop: This is not for beginners. In this class you can create a piece of your choosing, however it will need to be a piece that fits into the kiln using only the 2kg of clay provided, and completed within 2.5 hours. Please come prepared with an idea of what you are making
  • The Process: after your piece is complete, it will be left to dry for 1-2 weeks and then bisque fired. Kim will then glaze your work and it will be fired again. Each firing can take up to 48 hours to fire and cool down and the whole process can't be rushed. This is why it will be 4-6 weeks before you can collect your work
  • Pottery is unpredictable. pottery can warp or crack in the kiln—even for the pros. We take a lot of care to minimize this, but sometimes the "Kiln Gods" have other plans. Unfortunately, we can’t offer credits or refunds for damaged pieces.
  • Glazing: You will be offered a choice of glaze colours to choose from. We don't do any glazing effects or special requests
